Walking Paths
There are roughly 3 miles of walking paths in and around the community.
A walking path starts near the intersection of West Church Road and Ruritan Circle and runs parallel to West Church Road. It continues to run parallel to and on both sides of Magnolia Road. Additionally, residents wishing to walk a little farther may continue alongside Blossom Drive outside of the community and walk into nearby neighborhoods.
Looking for a longer walk? Residents may access the Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park from the community. The 100-foot-wide W&OD is one of Northern Virginia’s longest parks, with 45 miles of paved trail for walking, running, bicycling and skating and 32 miles of adjacent gravel trail for horseback riding. Built on the roadbed of the former Washington & Old Dominion Railroad, the multi-use W&OD Trail runs through the “urban heartland and countryside of Northern Virginia.”
Access to the W&OD is available through a path that is directly behind the houses located on the southern end of Baggett Terrace. To find the path, stand on the western side of Magnolia Road with the pond in the middle of the neighborhood to your back. The path is in-between the backs of the townhomes and a wooded area.
