President’s Message to the Community – New Parking Rules for 2022

Good Evening Dominion Station Residents,

Today you received a notice in the mail about yesterdayโ€™s annual meeting along with information about new parking enforcement the BOD have approved for 2022. I want to apologize for the delay in this letter getting to residents and thank those of you who were on yesterday and attended meetings throughout the summer discussing changes that we would be making to our communities parking enforcement.

The BOD voted earlier this year to adopt a new parking enforcement program and do so without having to raise fees on all residents. The new parking vendor will be Online Parking Solutions; https://www.getonlineparking.com/reverse-squeeze-page1610121314699?bpref=headerlogo

I want to make it clear to all residents that nobody has to opt-into this program. If you have no interest in obtaining an Open Space or Visitor Space hangtag and can adequately park your vehicles with your garage/driveway or two assigned parking spaces you can do so without any additional cost.

However, for residents who would like to park their vehicle in an Open Space and/or have a Visitor Space hangtag for visitors to the community you will need to purchase those passes through Online Parking Solutions.

Open Space Hangtags;

In order for residents to obtain an Open Space Hangtag at a cost of $19/year (for parking in the unmarked spaces throughout the community) you will need to first register a minimum of two vehicles per household. The cost for vehicle registration is $11/year per vehicle. Only Resident Vehicles that have been registered through Online Parking Pass can park in an Open Space.

Visitor Hangtags;

Any resident can purchase a Visitor Hangtag at a cost of $19/year to use for Visitors to the Community (this does not apply to residents who live on Baggett & Thompson).

Total Cost for Residents if you purchase both a Open Space (w/2 registered vehicles) and a Visitor Hangtag is $60/year or $5/month.

Overnight Parking through the App;

When parking a resident vehicles in an Open Space or a Non-Resident vehicle in a Visitor Space overnight (12:00am – 7:00am) you will have to load that vehicle into the Online Parking Solutions web portal (app). The app works similar to Park Mobile where you will register the vehicle (using Color, Make, Model, Plate #, and last 4 of the Vin) and identify how long that vehicle will be parked (maximum time 72 hours). You can load your vehicles into the app to allow for easy selection when requesting overnight parking.

*NOTE: Vehicles parking in an Open Space can continue to be renewed every 72 hours.

*NOTE: Visitor vehicle access will be locked out after a period of time and may be subject to being identified as a resident vehicles if it is deemed the โ€œvisitorโ€ vehicle belongs to a resident.

We understand that this transition to the new enforcement program will take some time for residents to obtain the new parking passes so the BOD will not begin enforcement with this new system until 3 JAN 21. In the mean time please review the literature we have distributed and we will continue to answer questions from the membership as we receive them.

Providing equitable parking for all residents in our community is a fiduciary responsibility of the BOD and we all feel as if this new program will allow for the most equitable parking solution for all residents.

I have attached the Presidents letter to this e-mail as it was not included in the mailer you received today.

Respectfully,

Mehdi A. Kohanbani
DSHOA President
